t600-DSC_0802Volunteers will be needed at the Haywood Pathways Center from now until its expected Nov. 15 opening.

There is much work left to do, said volunteer Clark Thompson, a former contractor who is at the site daily helping coordinate work.

There’s plenty of cleaning, blinds to hand, paint to chip off doors so they will close properly and pass inspection, tables to assemble, furniture to move, and the list goes on.

Those with a few hours to spare are encouraged to drop by the Haywood Pathways Center during daylight hours between now and Nov. 15 Monday through Saturday.

There will be a particular need for strong backs on Saturday as the group will be moving 25 beds from the former shelter at Camp New Life to the new center in Hazelwood.

Thompson said there are plenty of tasks for all who show up.
